Our Presiding Deity

Goddess Sri Valliamman is the principal deity of this ancient temple. She is revered as the Kuladeivam (family deity) of the Kongu Kulalar community and is believed to shower her devotees with protection, prosperity, and spiritual guidance.

The Goddess is known for her immense compassion and divine power. Devotees from across Tamil Nadu and beyond make pilgrimages to Mohanur to seek her blessings, especially during major festivals such as Poo Mithithal (the sacred fire-walking ceremony) and the Grand Pongal celebrations.

Her legend, as told across fourteen sacred scenes, is one of supreme devotion, divine grace, and ultimate sacrifice — a testament to the eternal bond between a devotee and her Lord.
