Account information: when you sign up as a member, we collect your name, email address, and your chosen community branch. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google account.

Family tree information: members may add their own details and details of relatives (such as names) to the community family tree. Information you add there is visible to other logged-in members.

Contact form submissions: when you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, your message, and any files you choose to attach.

Automatically collected information: like most websites, we collect basic technical data such as your approximate location, browser type, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools.

We use your information to create and manage your member account, to show community events relevant to your branch, to operate the family tree, to respond to your messages, to keep the website secure, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the site. We also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage patterns. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features (such as staying logged in) may not work without them.

We use trusted third-party services to run this website, and your data may be processed by them on our behalf: Supabase (member accounts and authentication), Google (sign-in with Google and analytics), Resend (delivering contact-form emails to the temple), Sanity (managing event content), and Anthropic (powering the website chat assistant). Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms.

The family tree is a shared community feature. Entries you add are visible to other logged-in members and are published immediately. Please only add information about others that is appropriate to share, and that you have a reasonable basis to share. You can edit or remove entries you created, and anyone can report a problem entry for review.

We keep your account and community information for as long as your account is active. Contact-form emails are kept as needed to respond to and follow up on your enquiry. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at valliamman1@gmail.com. You can also update some details yourself from your member profile.

This website is intended for general community use and is not directed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the involvement of a parent or guardian.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated through the website.
